DEXA Scan Body Composition Testing
The scale gives you one number. A DEXA scan gives you the truth behind it: lean mass, fat mass and bone density, region by region.
DEXA is the reference standard most other body-composition methods are compared against. A scan separates your weight into muscle, fat and bone, and shows where each lives, so a training block can be judged on what it actually changed.
Paired with a program, it turns progress from a feeling into a measurement: retest after a block and see lean mass up, fat mass down, and whether the plan did what it claimed.
What you get
- Lean mass, fat mass and bone density in one scan
- Regional breakdown, not one blended number
- A true baseline before a program starts
- Retests that show what the block actually changed

Is a DEXA scan safe?
DEXA uses a very low dose of X-ray, far below a standard chest X-ray. As with any X-ray based scan, tell the provider if you are or may be pregnant.
How often should I rescan?
Body composition changes over training blocks, not days. Rescanning after a full block, typically a few months, is when the comparison means something.
